Drag it to move it: it clicks onto corners and walls and lines up with other points (hold Shift for 1 mm steps). Double-tap the outline to add a point. The diamond on a side pulls its curve.
More: trim to a boundary, or cut something out

Trim keeps only what lies inside the thing you pick (say the plot, so a lawn stops at the fence). Cut out takes it away (a patio, the house). Undo puts it back.

        How faint (drawing shows through)

Dimensions (Design): Structure is the clean building view, Kitchen adds the unit strings. Layers only hide things on screen; nothing is deleted, and printing uses its own set.

Moving a wall here changes the design only: the survey keeps it where it was measured.

        The floor below

The floor below shows faint to trace over; its corners click into place as you draw. Copying the outside walls brings up the shell: rooms drawn against it take its thickness and line up outside. With “Line up with the floor below” on, every wall set External stays on the outside face below (square to it), and your typed room sizes move the inside walls: the inside walls’ thickness takes up the difference. Windows below show in blue: a window dropped near one takes its position and width.

Other rooms are locked while you work in this one, so they can't be moved by accident. Move this room unlocks it: drag it, and a door snaps to a door in the next room, centre to centre, across the wall. Tap anywhere else when it's in place.

How Concept to Completion works: the full guide

Tap a heading to open it. Every pop-up has a ? that opens the section for it. Press and hold any button (or hover with a mouse) to see what it does.

Three steps on the plan: draw a room, add a window, switch to Design.

Quick start: your first survey in 10 steps
        1. Start a job. Tools (logo, top right) → Jobs → New job. Type the client's surname, first name, address and postcode. The job is named SURNAME – POSTCODE – date and saves itself as you go. You need a free RAAIX account to use the app: the first screen asks you to sign in or create one.
        2. Draw the room. Tools → Survey, then Room → Draw walls (or pick Rectangle / L-shaped to start from a shape). Tap each corner of the room in turn, going round. To place a wall at an exact length, aim it, type the length on the keypad and press Enter. Tap the first corner to close the room.
        3. Measure every wall. Tap a wall and type what the tape says. The room redraws so every typed length is true. Do the same for the ceiling height (Room → Room details).
        4. Check it's square. Tap a corner to see its real angle and lock it square if it is. In an out-of-square room, measure a diagonal (corner pop-up → Measure a diagonal → tap the opposite corner, type the length). Checks (the ⚠ in the tools) lists anything that doesn't add up.
        5. Add windows and doors. Long-press (or right-click) a wall → Windows or Doors → pick the type. In its pop-up type the distance from the left (as you face the wall), the width, sill height and height. Typed figures lock (solid blue).
        6. Add the services. Long-press a wall → Services: sockets, switches, spurs, radiators, boiler, soil pipe, gas and water, core holes, air bricks. Each one's position and height to its centre.
        7. Add what's there. The existing kitchen (Add → Existing kitchen) and furniture (Add → Existing furniture), so the design can show old and new.
        8. Next room. Room → + New room and draw it against the first: corners click onto walls already drawn, so shared walls line up. Upstairs: Floors (bottom bar) → + Add a floor above.
        9. Design. Tools → Design → Add → the catalogue. Tap units to place them; drag to shuffle; tap one to change it. Checks keeps you right on clashes, fillers and sizes.
        10. Hand it over. Tools → Print / PDF: pick the rooms and the pages (or a set: Survey, Design, Check measure), then Print → save as PDF. On iPad: Print → share → Save to Files.
The screen, moving round and shortcuts
        What's where
        • Navigator (top left, e.g. Ground floor › Kitchen): tap to jump to any roof (House · Gable, Garage · Lean-to… each opens its own), any floor (whole floor or one room), the plot outside, the outside elevations, or Floors.
        • Logo (top right): opens the tools. Top row: Survey / Design / Check, Add, Room (Survey), Elevation, 3D, Checks (the number is how many problems), Pin (keeps the tools open), and the job name (tap to close the tools). Tap the job name (the chevron) to drop down the menu: Jobs, options (A, B…) and + to copy an option, List, Notes, Print / PDF, My settings, Kitchen settings, Keep the toolbar open, and Clear. Tap a unit, window, door or service and a small menu appears beside it with Edit, Elevation, Duplicate and Delete.
        • Undo / redo beside the logo: every change, including drawing, moving and typing, can be undone (up to 150 steps).
        • Bottom bar: Floor (Ground / First…), Architect / Agent (whole-floor view only), Tape, Services, Building (Design), Layers, − / + zoom, Fit.
        • Tip (bottom left): what you can do with what's selected. Turn tips off in Settings → Units & display.
        Gestures
        • Pan: drag empty space. Zoom: pinch, scroll, or − / +. Fit: the room (or whole floor) fills the screen.
        • Tap: select (wall, corner, item, unit). Double-tap, long-press (½ second) or right-click: the add menu for that spot, or the item's pop-up.
        • Drag: move an item along its wall, a unit along its run, a room, furniture, a corner or a wall. Dragging anything measured or locked asks first.
        • Tap outside the rooms (with nothing selected) for the whole floor; tap a room there to go back to it. In Design, tap inside another room to design it.
        • Pop-ups open on the right; the plan slides out of the way if it would be covered. ✕ or Escape closes them.
        Keyboard (laptop)
        • Drawing: numbers type a length, Enter places the wall (or closes the room), Backspace takes the last corner back, Escape cancels.
        • A corner selected: Delete removes it. Escape closes pop-ups and Settings. In 3D Walk: arrow keys / WASD.
        Jobs, options, versions and files
        • Jobs (tools → Jobs): the job's client details, a search (name, postcode with or without the space, address, phone, date), every job on this device, and New job. Tap a job to see its client, address, phone and email (tap to ring or email) and dates, with Open this job, Save to Files and Delete… (asks first); tap it again to fold it away.
        • Versions: save a version before a big change (e.g. "Before the check measure"). Restore puts it back (a "Before restoring" version is saved first, so nothing is lost). Copy as option brings an old version in beside the current one. Starting a check measure saves a version automatically.
        • Options (A, B…): the + copies the current layout into a new option so you can compare designs. The survey stays shared between options; changes to it show in all of them.
        • Files: each job saves as one .c2c file (older .checkmeasure files still open). Chrome on a laptop can connect a folder and keep a copy there automatically. iPad: Save to Files, Back up all jobs, and Open file to bring a job in (a newer copy only replaces an older one).
        • Account (Settings → Account): sign in to your RAAIX account and jobs, versions, your settings and texture photos are on every device you sign in on. Syncs on opening, every 2 minutes, after changes and when you tap Sync now. Works offline and catches up.
        Drawing rooms
        Drawing
        • Room (tools, Survey) → Draw walls. Tap the first corner, then each corner in turn. The wall you're aiming shows its length; type a length and press Enter to place that wall exactly in the direction you're aiming.
        • Square walls button: on, every wall is at 90°; off, walls go at any angle but click to square when close (within 5°).
        • Corners click onto other rooms' corners and walls (and the floor below when drawing upstairs), so rooms sit wall to wall.
        • Close the room by tapping the first corner (or Finish room). Cancel puts back what was there.
        • Presets (Room menu): Rectangle, L-shaped, Chimney breast, With pier: a starting shape you then measure.
        The Room menu
        • Name, ceiling height, floor area, perimeter, volume, wall area (gross and less the openings), how many walls are measured and corners locked.
        • On the iPad: pinch zooms the plan only (never the page, so the menus stay put); drag with one finger to move round. A tap doesn’t have to be perfectly still, and a finger landing close beside a wall still picks it. Press and hold (about half a second) on a wall for the add menu, or on empty floor for the room menu; double-tap does the same.
        • Moving a door, window or service you’ve measured: once you have typed a figure for it, it’s locked, so a drag asks first (“Keep it as it was” puts it back exactly). To move it freely, tap it and tap Unlock in the bar at the bottom, drag it where you want it, then tap Lock so it keeps those figures. Or type the new figure: typing always works.
        • Rooms in this job: Work on it, + New room, Move this room (drag, then Done moving), Turn 90°, Lock every figure.
        • Straighten to grid (Room menu): turns the whole drawing so the room's main wall (the lowest long wall) runs exactly along the grid lines. Nothing changes size or angle; other rooms, floors, stairs, roofs and the plot turn with it, and north stays north. The first room of a new job is straightened by itself when it's drawn a few degrees off (up to 15°).
        • Check measure (Survey): Start / Finish check measure, Forget the original.
        • Add a ceiling beam here.
        More rooms
        • + New room draws in place against what's there. Drag a grey room to move it: its walls click onto neighbouring walls (a facing wall becomes one shared wall) and doors line up with doors.
        • When two rooms share a door, the app checks the two sides agree (size, swing, hinge) and asks which is right if not.
Walls: lengths, types, thickness and points
        • Delete a wall (Survey): tap the wall, then Delete this wall at the bottom of its menu (or press Delete with it picked). It asks first, naming anything on the wall (those go with it). The walls either side are carried on until they meet, like trimming a corner back; if they can’t meet (they run parallel) they are joined straight across. A room keeps at least three walls, and a plain four-sided room can’t lose one (move the wall instead, or delete the room). Undo puts it all back. Remove a corner (its menu) is different: it joins the two walls at that corner into one.
        • The keyboard (iPad): tapping a wall or diagonal no longer pops the keyboard up. Tap the length box when you want to type; only number boxes bring up the number pad, and names, notes and search bring up the ordinary keyboard. With a mouse the length box still has the cursor ready.
        • Drag a wall (Survey): press anywhere on a wall, in its black body or along its inside face, not at a corner, and drag it in or out. It moves, and the walls it joins lengthen or shorten to follow (a corner stays a corner). Works zoomed in or out, with a finger or a mouse. A picked wall shows a small blue grab handle in its middle. Add a point (wall menu), then drag either half of that wall: the other half stays put and a new wall is made at right angles, so you get a square step (a nook or a nib). Drag a corner dot to move just that corner; a typed (locked) length asks before it changes.
        • Tap a wall to open its pop-up with the length box ready: type what you measure and press Enter. It shows locked (solid blue). The room redraws so every typed length, locked corner and diagonal is true, starting from corner A, the datum, which stays put.
        • Untyped walls keep their drawn shape as far as possible. If what you've typed can't all be true, the worst clash is named in Checks and marked with a red !.
        • Type: Internal or External (these follow your Settings thicknesses) or Custom (its own thickness). External walls are one spec for the whole job: changing one changes them all.
        • Construction: generic (solid), stud (timbers at 400 centres), block, brick, cavity…: drawn in plan. "Use for every internal wall in this job" sets them all at once.
        • Add a point here: splits the wall where you tapped, so you can drag part of it out (a nib or nook). Dragging a wall that carries straight on into the next makes a square step.
        • Dragging a wall moves it square to itself; the walls either side stretch. Measurements it changes are cleared (it asks first if they were locked).
        • Wall letters (A, B, C…) go clockwise from the datum. Long-press a letter (or the wall) for its elevation.
        • Add pier from the wall pop-up for a pier or chimney breast on that wall.
        Corners, square and diagonals
        • Tap a corner: its real angle, Lock square (it's measured square: kept at 90° whatever else happens), Measure a diagonal, Remove.
        • Corners drawn square are assumed square; if the measurements say otherwise they give way and show their real angle. Locked corners never give way: if one can't be square with your figures it goes red and asks you to unlock it.
        • Diagonal: Measure a diagonal → tap the opposite corner → type the length. Diagonals fix the shape of an out-of-square room exactly; one diagonal per four-sided room is usually enough.
        • Remove this corner (or Delete key): the walls either side become one straight wall; doors and windows stay where they are; type the new wall's length. A point in a straight wall is removed the same way.
        • The angles shown in amber are the real angles where they're not 90°.
        Windows and doors
        • Long-press a wall (or Add) → Windows / Doors → a type. Windows: casement, sash, tilt & turn, fixed, top-hung, bay. Doors: internal, external, French, bifold, sliding, pocket, opening / archway.
        • Position: From left or From right (as you face the wall from inside the room), either can be typed. Width, height, and for windows the sill: floor to the underside of the sill board, the board's thickness, then the window height.
        • Options per type: hinge left / right, opens in / out, French opening leaf, bifold doors 2–7 and which way they fold, sliding panels and which slide, window panes and which open.
        • Door widths are the door; architraves (Settings, standard 70) are added outside. The plan dimensions to the outside of the architraves or to the door (Settings → Units & display); printouts show both.
        • Locks: every figure you type locks (solid blue); unlocked figures are pale with an underline. Dragging something that would change a locked figure asks first; Keep puts it back.
        • Label: type exactly what it is ("Oak back door"): it shows on the plans and schedules.
        • A door on a wall shared with the next room shows in both rooms and in 3D from both sides; it's one door.
        Services: sockets, switches, radiators, pipes
        • Long-press a wall → Services. Sockets and switches go in at standard centre heights (Settings → Services): above worktop, spurs, cooker switch and light switches 1100; low-level sockets and TV / data 450 (Approved Document M allows 450–1200); floor sockets in the floor.
        • Also radiators (width, height, depth, stand-off), boiler, soil pipe, gas and water points, core holes and air vents (round: the size is the diameter, set out to the centre), air bricks.
        • Services on a wall face can stand off it ("Out from the wall"): drawn that far out and listed on the setting-out sheet.
        • Datum (elevation → Services view → Datum): every wall has the point its services are measured from, for the electrician or plumber. Pick a corner (◣ ◢ ◤ ◥), or ⊕ Pick a point and tap the elevation: the edge of a pier, window, door or service (it follows that item if it moves), or any point on the wall. Tap near the floor for floor level, near the ceiling for the ceiling, or between for a datum line at that height. The running dimensions go both ways from it, heights up or down from it, and the plan and the services schedule use it too. Walls you add in the design have one as well.
        • Services view (bottom bar): services numbered S1, S2… wall by wall, each dimensioned from the start of its wall to its centre line (running dimensions). Tap a figure to type it and the service moves.
        • In Design, moved and new services are marked Moved / New on the schedule; layers show existing and new services separately.
        Structure: piers, chimney breasts, beams
        • Pier: width, depth into the room and height: full height, up from the floor, or down from the ceiling. Drawn solid, hatched or dashed with a cross.
        • Aperture in a pier (Add aperture): a fireplace, range recess or niche, with its width, height, depth and height off the floor; Centre it. Units that fit in it don't clash.
        • Chimney breast (Add → Structure): a 1500 × 400 breast with a 900 × 1100 opening, then adjust.
        • Ceiling beam (Room menu → Add a ceiling beam here): spans wall to wall; drag to move, handles for length and width, Turn 90° re-spans it; set how far down from the ceiling. Units whose tops reach it clash. The wall-hung "Downstand on a wall" is in Structure.
        Existing kitchen and furniture
        • Existing kitchen (Survey → Add): base, wall and tall runs, sink, hob, cooker, fridge, sized by width, depth, height off the floor and height. Drawn dashed brown; in Design it shows faded under the new units (Layers).
        • Furniture (Add → Existing furniture in Survey, Furniture in Design): living, dining, bedroom, bathroom and more, each in standard sizes or your own. Drag to move (it clicks onto walls), Turn 90°, Flip (e.g. the chaise of a corner sofa), Duplicate, Delete.
        • What's there now (Survey) and what's proposed (Design) are kept apart, with a layer each.
        Floors
        • Floors (bottom bar, or Navigator → Floors): switch floor, + Add a floor above, rename, its level above the ground floor, delete.
        • A new floor shows the floor below faint, with its windows; tap corners onto it. Outside walls carry straight up from below (they stay square to them); new windows click to the width of the window below.
        • Floor depth between storeys (Settings → Walls & rooms, standard 250) sets the next floor's level and the stairwell opening.
        Staircases
        • Survey → Add → Structure → Stairs: straight, straight with a mid landing, quarter turn with a landing, quarter turn with winders, half turn (U) on a landing, half turn winding round, spiral.
        • Winders: a quarter turn on winders can have 3 to 8 angled steps (3 is the usual; each is 90° divided by the number). Half turn, winding round turns 180° on 4 to 8 angled steps fanned round the middle of the well, or angled with a step in the middle: half the angled steps at each end with one square step between them (so 4 angled and one in the middle, or 6 and one). Choose the number in the stair’s pop-up; the middle step’s depth and the gap between the flights are typed there too. Every angled step counts as a riser, so the stair still climbs the full height; the treads narrow to the inside, so check the going at the walking line (about 270 mm in from the narrow end).
        • The rise is floor to floor (from the floor above if there is one). Risers are worked out at about 215 mm each; change the number, the going (tread), the width, how many risers before the landing or turn, the landing length, the gap between U flights and which way it turns.
        • Handles: square ones on the four sides stretch the stair to fit the space (the tread size and where the turn falls follow, so it still climbs the full height; the opposite side stays put; sides click onto walls). Round ones: the inside edge of each flight (width, U gap), the landing (slide it), the end of a mid landing, and the dashed handle behind the foot turns it in 15° steps. The overall size shows while it's selected.
        • Checks (Approved Document K, private stair): rise ≤ 220, going ≥ 220, pitch ≤ 42°, 2R + G 550–700. Red if not, with what to change.
        • Adding services on an elevation: the + Service button in the elevation header opens a list of sockets, switches, radiators, boilers and pipes. Pick one, then tap the wall (or press, slide and let go) to drop it; a preview shows the distance from the left and the height to the centre, and it clicks onto neighbouring centre lines and standard heights. It stays picked for the next one; Done or Escape stops. A long-press or right-click on empty wall opens the list for that one spot.
        • Between floors: its own floor shows it to a cut line with UP; the floor above shows it with DN and the opening it needs for 2.0 m headroom (red dashed). It warns if the top would arrive in a wall or outside the rooms upstairs, or if a wall upstairs stands over the opening. The opening follows the treads (on a U stair the landing you step out onto stays floor).
        • Against a wall (the usual, and how a new stair starts): the first flight runs along a wall of the room from its left or right end, with a gap from the corner. In the pop-up choose the wall (A, B, C…), which end, and type the gap; Fit to the wall stretches the going so it fills the wall to the far corner. Drag it on the plan to slide it along the wall; drag it well away (or choose Free: anywhere) to place it anywhere. It follows the wall if the room changes. The turn stays as you set it, so a flight can turn back over a wall below (a cloakroom under the stairs).
        • In 3D: treads with a nosing over painted risers, a string up each side, a handrail with spindles and newel posts on open sides (a wall rail where it's walled in) and a balustrade round the opening upstairs where the landing is open. Walls under a flight stop at its sloping underside, and Walk shows the floor above. Under the stairs: Open, or Boxed in down to the floor.
Roofs, chimneys, solar panels, roof windows
        • Add → Outside → Roof over the whole house (fitted to the top floor's outside walls, ridge along the longer side), or Roof over any single-storey part with nothing built above it, such as the garage or an extension (it starts as a lean-to if it's narrow). Each has one roof: choosing it again opens the roof it already has. Types: flat, lean-to, gable, hipped, half-hipped, Dutch gable, mansard, gambrel, pyramid, butterfly, barrel.
        • Heights above the ground floor: eaves (top of the walls), pitch, and ridge: type the ridge and the pitch follows. Overhangs at the eaves and verges. Mansard / gambrel: lower and upper pitch and kerb height. Half-hipped / Dutch: where the hip starts. Lean-to: which side is high.
        • Covering: clay or concrete tiles, slate, pantiles, metal standing seam, felt, GRP, sedum, thatch; any colour; fascia colour. Fit to the building, Turn 90°.
        • An L-shaped or complicated roof is two or more blocks meeting, as real roofs do: add another roof and size and drag it.
        • Fit it to: the whole floor, any one room (on the roof's floor) or an outbuilding: it takes that outline and puts its eaves at the top of those walls.
        • Chimney: size, the top of the stack, where it starts, 0–4 pots. Solar panels: which roof and slope, rows, panels per row, portrait / landscape, position (or drag them), Centre buttons; shows the kWp. Roof windows: standard sizes or your own, position.
        • Roofs, chimneys, solar panels and roof windows show only on the roof plan: open Roofs in the navigator (the whole-floor plan of the top floor is plain, with no roof on it). They also show in 3D Outside and the outside elevations.
        The plot: boundaries, garden, outbuildings
        • Add → Outside is in groups: plot and boundaries (boundary wall, fence, hedge with thickness and height), garden (lawn, patio, drive, path, flower bed), buildings (garage, shed, outbuilding), road and pavement (road, pavement, kerb, dropped kerb), next door, and roofs. A dropped kerb is a short run along the kerb where a drive crosses the pavement; kerbs and roads curve like any other side. Drag out a rectangle for an area, building or neighbour (a fence, wall or hedge drags out a straight run), or tap its corners one by one for any other shape; tap the first corner to close; a boundary can stay open (Finish). Corners and edges click onto the house’s corners and walls and onto what’s already drawn, so a patio sits flush against the house.
        • Freehand for curved lawns and beds: the Drag button in the drawing bar switches between a rectangle and freehand (lawns, beds, hedges, paths and a neighbour’s outbuilding start on freehand). Drag round the edge with your finger: it becomes a clean outline with corners where you turned and an arc fitted to every side between them; drag back to where you started to close it. Corners click onto the house and other edges. Afterwards Smooth the outline (in the pop-up) makes the corners flow into each other as curves, and Straight sides takes every curve out again. The same curve, radius and corner controls work on any side.
        • Pulling a curve: with a shape selected, the blue diamond on the middle of each side can be dragged to bow that side in or out (drag it back to the straight line and it goes straight). The dots on the corners move the corners. Auto-trim: a new lawn, patio, drive, path or bed that runs past the plot is cut to the plot boundary when you finish it (Undo puts back what you drew; switch it off in the pop-up). In the pop-up, Trim to a boundary, or cut something out: Trim to keeps only what lies inside the thing you pick; Cut out takes it away (a patio, the house). Curves in the result are traced back into corners and arcs.
        • Editing a shape like a vector drawing: with a shape selected, tap a point to pick it (square marker = corner, round = smooth). Drag it: it clicks onto corners and walls and lines up with other points (a dashed guide shows; hold Shift for 1 mm steps). Double-tap the outline to add a point (a curved side keeps its shape). In the pop-up: Corner or Smooth for the picked point (a smooth point makes the sides either side meet along one line), Remove point. Delete removes the picked point (or the whole shape if none is picked); the arrow keys nudge 10 mm (Shift 1 mm); Escape lets go. The curves are arcs, so each is still a figure you can type.
        • Measured figures: type a side's length (in the pop-up, or tap its figure on the drawing) and it is measured: shown solid blue, kept, and anything that would change it asks first (“Keep it as it was” puts everything back exactly). A curve whose depth or radius you typed is measured too. Dragging and snapping are for sketching; typing is for measuring.
        • Trimming to a wall: in the pop-up, Trim to keeps what lies inside a closed shape (a closed wall is taken to its inner face), Cut along an open wall, fence or hedge keeps the house side or the far side, Cut out takes something away. New garden areas do this on their own as you finish them (switch it off in the pop-up); Undo puts back what you drew.
        • Trees and planting (Add → Outside → Trees and planting: tree, conifer, shrub): tap where it stands, or press at the trunk and drag out to the edge of the canopy. The pop-up has name or species, height, canopy spread, trunk diameter and a status (existing, to be removed, new, neighbour’s). On the plan: the canopy circle, the trunk, a reference (T1…), a cross through one to be removed; selected, it shows the dashed root protection radius (12 × the trunk diameter, at most 15 m), the distance from the trunk to the house (tap it to type a distance and move the tree) and a dot on the canopy to drag its spread. In 3D they show in Walk and Outside. Print gives a tree schedule. They have their own layer (Layers → Trees and planting).
        • Common first: long lists show the usual things and keep the rest under More (search always finds everything). Less-used groups (road and pavement, underground services, next door, roofs, holes through the wall, services on the ground) start closed: tap the heading to open. A Recent row at the top of the Add menu keeps the last few things you added. A shape’s pop-up shows the basics; trimming, every side and corner, curves and measured lengths are under More.
        • Search: the box at the top of every Add menu looks through everything that menu can add (names, sizes and everyday words: “plug”, “toilet”, “bin”, “car park”). Type a word or two and the matching buttons appear straight away, the very same buttons as in the menus: tap one to add it, or press Enter to add the first. Escape clears the search, then closes the menu.
        • Furniture, appliances and outside items: Furniture now has twelve groups: living, dining, bedroom, bathroom, office, free-standing appliances, hall and utility, children’s room, hobbies and leisure, and three for outside (garden furniture and play, garden features and storage, vehicles and parking). The outside ones go on the plot: near the house they go back against the wall and face away; give each a size from its presets or typed, turn it, and set whether it is existing, new, to be removed or a neighbour’s. Services on the ground (manholes, inspection chambers, gullies, septic tanks, oil tanks, outside taps, lamp posts, EV posts, meter boxes…) are in Services → Outside, on the ground and follow the existing / new services layers. Underground runs (foul and surface water drains, water, gas, electric, telephone, land drain, duct) are lines in the usual colours with a depth, under Outside → Underground services. Print gives an Outside items schedule. The lists live in catalogues/items.js: add a line to add an item.
        • More wall services: Services is split into groups. Electrical (sockets, USB, shaver, switches, dimmer, pull cord, doorbell, thermostat, smoke, CO and CCTV, external socket and lights, fan, consumer unit, meters, EV charger, MVHR, inverter), heating and hot water (towel rail, column radiator, convector, UFH manifold, boilers, cylinders, heat pump, buffer), water, gas and drainage (supplies, stopcock, meters, valves, outside tap, soil, waste, downpipe, vent, flue, condensate) and holes through the wall (core, vent, air brick, flue, dryer vent, cable, extractor). Boxes are set out to both edges, round things as circles.
        • Next door: the neighbour’s house, garage or extension, drawn faint and dashed for context. Give it a name (“No. 14”) and a height to the eaves; the pop-up shows how far it is from your house, and a dimension shows on the plan while it’s selected. They show in 3D Walk and Outside (so you can see what the kitchen window looks onto), on the site plan, and on their own layer (Layers → Next door) and DXF layer.
        • Plot button (zoom bar, bottom right): shows the house and everything outside it (plot, garden, neighbours, road) in one view, whichever mode you’re in, and takes you down to the ground floor if you were upstairs (the outside only shows on the ground floor). Outside things can be picked, moved and drawn in Design as well as Survey; Add has Outside in both.
        • Selecting: tap anywhere inside a lawn, patio, building or neighbour (the smallest on top is the one you get), from any view; the navigator’s Outside list has every one by name, including any hidden underneath. An unselected area pans when you drag it; once selected, drag moves it.
        • Tap one: name, type, thickness, height, and for a rectangle its Width and Depth; the corner dots keep it square, and the bars on the middle of each edge stretch just that edge (they click flush onto the house). Every side and corner (length, curve depth or radius, bows out / in, angle, Round it off with a radius) is under the fold-away line below; irregular shapes open it for you. Close / Open the shape, Delete.
        • Picture to trace over (Add → Outside, or the navigator): bring in a screenshot of a map, an aerial view or a site plan. Tap two points on it that you know the real distance between, type that distance, and the picture is set to scale; drag it into place, turn it, make it fainter, then Lock it in place and draw the plot and neighbours over it. It never prints. The picture stays on the device you added it on; its place and scale go with the job.
        • North and sun (navigator → North and sun): set which way north points and the whole-floor and site plans get a north arrow; the 3D shadows then use the real sun: morning, midday, afternoon or evening, summer (high) or winter (low), and next door's houses cast theirs.
        • Gap to the house: with a thing selected, tap the dimension showing how far it is from the house and type a new distance; it moves. Opening the Plot shows how much is built on and how close each building is to the boundary (read off the drawing, for you to check).
        • A curved garden wall: measure straight across from end to end (the length) and how far the middle sits off that line (the curve depth).
        • Editing a boundary: + Point on any side adds a corner in its middle (drag it or type the sides); Remove point on a corner joins its two sides; Take out this side leaves a gap (a gateway, or where the house is): a closed boundary opens there, an open one splits in two.
        • Outbuildings as rooms: tap a garage, shed or outbuilding → Make it a room. It becomes a room of the ground floor with its walls at their thickness, so you can measure and dimension it like any room, add a garage door (Add → Doors → Garage door: up and over, sectional, roller or side-hung pair) and windows, and a roof (Add → Outside → Roof → Fit it to: the garage).
        • Navigator → Outside: the plot zoomed out. It goes on the Site plan page, the 3D Outside view and DXF.
        Check measure
        • Going back for the final measure: tools → Check (or Room menu → Start check measure). The survey as it is now is kept as the original (and saved as a version).
        • Tap each wall and type what you measure: if it's the same press Enter (or Same as before). Doors, windows and services: Same as before ✓, or type the figure that's different. The ceiling has its own Same as before.
        • Anything different shows in red as "now · was" beside the original, with a red outline on items. The Room menu counts what's checked and lists what's still to check. The existing kitchen and furniture aren't part of the check.
        • Finish check measure keeps it all; the PDF's Check measure page lists every change. Forget the original (two taps) removes it.
        Design: kitchen units
        Adding
        • Tools → Design → Add: Favourites (star units on the catalogue sheets), the catalogue (all base, wall and tall units), fillers and panels, islands, furniture. Tap a unit to add it to the wall you're on (next to the selected unit, so a run builds up), or drag it into place.
        • Double-tap, long-press or right-click a wall to add there.
        Placing and sizing
        • Units snap to walls, corners, neighbours and window centres; dragging into a run pushes the others along (fillers shrink first). The Arrange buttons move a unit or put a filler or panel beside it.
        • Tap a unit: width (to the maker's sizes), height (wall units), depth (600 / 650 or the maker's depths), fronts (doors, drawers, appliance housings), hinge, end. Handles on the plan stretch the width; in elevations, the wall unit height and dresser height.
        • Each wall can be 600 or 650 deep; a run's worktop is the deepest unit + 25.
        • Corner units place themselves in the room's corner by the maker's rules and push both runs to suit; their filler size and blind side are in the pop-up. Choose Free: anywhere to slide one along a run or onto a peninsula or island face, e.g. where a peninsula meets the wall run; the blind side faces the run it joins.
        • Furniture in Design draws over the units, so stools and chairs can go under a peninsula or island overhang.
        • Scribe fillers (40 mm) go in automatically where a unit meets a wall in a corner; delete one and it stays out. End panels (19 mm) from the catalogue.
        • Islands and peninsulas: Add → Islands. Units go on either side; drag the worktop to move; length, overhang, rotate; walkways under 1000 mm are flagged.
        Settings and checks
        • Kitchen settings (was Job settings; they belong to this job, while My settings holds the defaults for new jobs; the job's panel says when it differs and can copy either way): tall unit height on the plinth (195 / 208 / 221), plinth, wall unit height (hung from the top of the tall units), worktop thickness, handles, handleless wall units. Shows the overall worktop and tall heights.
        • Checks (⚠): clashes with units, doors, windows, piers, beams and the ceiling, gaps and the filler to fill them, sizes the maker doesn't make, mixed depths, corner spacing, wall units too close to the worktop.
        • Units are numbered on the plan and elevations; codes appear in the List (copyable), the pop-up and the PDF schedule.
        Design: changing the building
        • In Design, Building (bottom bar): move or resize doors, windows and services, add new openings (e.g. a knock-through), and drag walls, for the design only.
        • The survey is never changed: it shows faint and dashed underneath, moves are measured from where things were surveyed, and Survey still shows it exactly as measured. Put back as surveyed undoes a change to one item.
        • Changes are tagged on the plan and listed on the PDF's Building changes page (the list of work). If the app ever stops a design change reaching the survey, it says "The survey was protected" and keeps the survey as measured.
Layers, Tape, Services view and plan views
        • Layers: existing kitchen, existing furniture, new kitchen, new furniture, existing services, new and moved services, the survey under building changes, the plot, roofs. One set for every view and 3D; nothing is deleted by hiding it; printouts show the usual set.
        • Tape: tap two points (or drag) to measure anywhere; it clicks onto corners, wall middles and item edges. Keep as dimension leaves it on the plan; tap it in Tape mode to remove.
        • Whole floor (tap outside the rooms): Agent (rooms, names, sizes, areas, total floor area) or Architect (every wall, door, window, unit and piece of furniture, room names, external dimensions and the plot). The printout's floor plan follows your choice.
        • Working on one room, the other rooms show their contents faint.
        Elevations (walls) and outside elevations
        • Wall elevations: Elevation (tools), a wall pop-up, or long-press a wall letter. Drawn as an architect's section: side walls cut, floor and ceiling hatched, units on return walls in section.
        • Views: Survey (walls, windows, doors, piers, beams, existing kitchen, with opening and sill dimensions), Services (running dimensions to each centre and heights to centre), Units (unit runs and levels). Tap any figure to type it.
        • 📷 Photo: take a photo (or pick one) and tap the wall where it shows. A numbered pin goes there (P1, P2… from left to right); tap it to see the photo, add a caption, replace or delete it, and drag it to move it. The printout has a photo sheet for each wall: the wall with its pins, then each photo with its number, caption and position. Photos stay on the device and follow your RAAIX account.
        • Outside elevations (Navigator): front, rear, left and right of the whole house: every storey, windows and external doors, roofs, chimneys, panels, ground line and levels (floors, eaves, ridge) and overall width. In the PDF too.
        3D, finishes and textures
        • Around: drag to turn, pinch or scroll to zoom, two fingers (or Shift-drag) to move; the walls nearest you hide so you can see in. Walk: eye height, drag to look, pinch / arrows / WASD to walk, Ceiling on or off. Outside: the whole property, every floor, roofs and plot.
        • A–D… face a wall. Cut slices the model at a height. Lines, Shadows, Doors open / shut, Layers.
        • Sky (button in the 3D bar, and My settings → 3D): a ground plane stretches out round the property and fades into mist, with a sky above it and a fine horizon line. In Walk you see it out of the windows. It works in every drawing style (the sketch style fades its hatching into the mist, the realistic one has a blue sky and a pale haze at the horizon). Switch it off for the plain paper look. The 3D pictures in the PDF never have it.
        • Finishes: drawing style (Architect's wash, Realistic, White model, Sketch), door style (flat / shaker), and every surface: fronts, carcass, worktop, handles, plinth, walls, outside walls, floor, ceiling, internal doors, frames, staircase, furniture.
        • For each: preset and your own colours, any colour (picker or code), matt / satin / gloss, a texture (wood, boards, tiles, metro, brick, marble, granite, concrete, terrazzo, paving…) at its real size with joint colour and width, Turn 90°. Walls, floors and ceilings can be for the whole job, this room or this wall only.
        • Tap any surface in 3D to change it. Add a photo… of a real sample (worktop, tile, flooring) and give its size: it repeats true to scale.
        Print, PDF and DXF
        • Tools → Print / PDF: choose the rooms and the pages, or a set: Survey (floor plan, site plan, outside elevations, survey plans, windows and doors, services, notes), Design (floor plan, 3D, design plans, building changes, elevations, existing and new, unit schedule, checks, notes), Check measure, or All.
        • The Design plan page is the clean one: building changes, openings and overall sizes. The Kitchen layout plan page carries the unit and gap dimensions. On screen, Layers → Dimensions (in Design) switches between Structure, Kitchen and None.
        • Choose the sheet (A4, A3, A2 or A1, landscape or portrait) and the scale (Auto or a fixed 1:10 to 1:100). Every room plan and elevation is drawn at one scale, in the same place on the sheet, inside a small margin with a title box along the bottom. Set the printer's paper to the same size.
        • Make PDF writes the PDF itself, at exactly the sheet you chose (A4 to A1) with a 10 mm margin, drawings sharp at their true scale, in light colours. When it's ready, Share or save… opens the share sheet (Save to Files, AirDrop, Mail, Print) and Open it shows it first. A schedule longer than a sheet carries on over the next sheets. Print… still uses the browser's own printing, where the sheet size and margins depend on the browser (Safari ignores them). The 3D pictures use your drawing style.
        • DXF: the plan exported for CAD, on proper layers (walls, openings, units, furniture, services, plot…).
        Settings and measuring conventions
        • Settings: Units & display (mm / cm / m / ft-in, door dimensions, whole-house plan, tips), Walls & rooms, Windows & doors, Services, Kitchen & furniture (new jobs and the catalogue), Colours & 3D (style, finishes for new jobs, your colours and textures), Account. Signed in, they follow you to every device.
        • Everything is stored in mm, so switching units changes nothing. In ft-in you can type 8' 6½", inches alone, or fractions.
        • Positions are from the left end of the wall as you face it from inside the room. Heights of sockets, switches and services are to their centre; windows to the underside of the sill board.
        • Number boxes select their whole figure when you tap them, so typing replaces it. Solid blue = locked, pale with an underline = not yet measured.
        Troubleshooting
        • A new version is ready: tap Reload. It's downloaded first so the app is never left without a copy; it works offline.
        • Something doesn't add up (red !, red corners): open Checks; usually a typed length or a locked corner that can't be true with the rest. Re-measure, or unlock the corner.
        • Moved something by accident: Undo. Locked figures ask before they change; in Survey deleting asks first.
        • "The survey was protected": a design change tried to alter the survey and was stopped; the survey is as you measured it.
        • Not syncing: Settings → Account shows the state; check you're signed in and online, then Sync now.
        • 3D slow on an older iPad: turn Shadows or Lines off, or use the Realistic style.
